Applications to join our group are ALWAYS welcome from outstanding and enthusiastic PhD and postdoctoral candidates. Well-paid stipends are often available, funded by industry or other outside bodies (e.g. the EU and the UK research councils).  The main discipline is Synthetic Organic Chemistry, but we have strong interests in other areas(Coordination Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Polymer Synthesis, Molecular Recogniton etc).  Members of the group will certainly be exposed to a vast range of science, from pharmaceutical chemistry (drug delivery systems, pro-drugs, membrane transport) to materials ('smart' materials, 'molecular machinery' and novel polymer architectures).
